Almeria vs. Atletico Madrid - prediction, team news, lineups

Atletico Madrid will aim to secure their second consecutive victory in La Liga as they return to domestic action against bottom-placed Almeria on Saturday evening.

Diego Simeone's team currently holds the fourth spot in the La Liga standings, with a two-point lead over fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao. On the other hand, Almeria is positioned at 20th place, sitting 12 points away from the safety of 17th position with 13 games remaining.

Almeria will be missing Cesar Montes on Saturday due to a knee injury, while Iddrisu Baba, Luis Suarez, and Ibrahima Kone are uncertain due to injuries.

However, the team will be boosted by the return of Largie Ramazani from suspension, and he is expected to feature in the match.

Coach Garitano is likely to stick with the same lineup that performed well against Granada, with hopes that Baba will recover from a minor issue to keep his place in midfield.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid faced two injury setbacks against Inter on Tuesday, with Jose Gimenez leaving the pitch in the first half due to muscular discomfort, and Antoine Griezmann suffering a sprained ankle.

Griezmann is expected to be out for some time, joining Cesar Azpilicueta and Thomas Lemar on the unavailable list for Atletico. Gimenez's fitness will be assessed late.

Simeone is expected to make changes from the team that played in the Champions League, with Stefan Savic, Alvaro Morata, and Angel Correa potentially starting. Additionally, Arthur Vermeeren might make his first start for Atletico after joining in the winter transfer window.

Almeria possible starting lineup:
Maximiano; Pubill, E Gonzalez, Radovanovic, Langa; Baba, Robertone; Arribas, Ramazani, Embarba; Lozano

Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup:
Oblak; Molina, Witsel, Savic, Hermoso, Lino; De Paul, Koke, Vermeeren; Morata, Correa
