Nepal seals thrilling win against Canada

The Nepalese national cricket team just scored an exciting victory against Canada in the first match of their series. Nepal won by seven runs in a thrilling game at TU Cricket Ground. With this win, Nepal is now leading the three-match series 1-0.

In the match, Canada was chasing a target of 225 runs. They seemed on track for an easy win, reaching 174/3 at one point. But then the Nepalese spinners turned the game around with some fantastic bowling.

At one stage, Canada looked comfortable at 114/3 thanks to a good partnership between Pargat Singh and Nicholas Kirton. However, Rohit Paudel's crucial dismissal of Pargat for 50 runs broke their momentum. Kirton then partnered with Harsh Thaker, adding another 60 runs.

But Pawan Sarraf's dismissal of Kirton, who scored 68 runs, shifted the game's momentum again. Even though Canada had plenty of overs left, they still needed 30 runs with four wickets in hand. Rohit Paudel and Lalit Rajbanshi then took two wickets each, securing the victory for Nepal. The Nepalese bowlers took the last seven wickets for just 43 runs, turning the match in their favor.

Rohit Paudel was the star for Nepal, shining with the ball as he took four wickets. He was awarded the player of the match. Lalit Rajbanshi took two wickets, while debutant Rijan Dhakal, Sompal Kami, Kushal Malla, and Pawan Sarraf each grabbed one wicket.

The second and third matches of the series will be played on the 10th and 12th of February.
